Neither Obama Nor McCain In My Top 3 Candidates

Posted by Brett Bittner on November 1, 2008

Earlier this week, I was discussing my choice for President of the United States, and I took an interesting position by ordering the candidates that have sufficient promotion that I am aware of their candidacy.  The following list shows my preferences from 1-7.  I based this entirely on how their positions match up to my political ideology.

    1. Bob Barr
    2. Chuck Baldwin
    3. Alan Keyes
    4. Barack Obama
    5. Ralph Nader
    6. John McCain
    7. Cynthia McKinney

    Any surprises there?

For both candidates, this is fantastic news.  Unfortunately, their voices will most likely not be heard.  The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private, unaccountable organization that chooses more of the same for each debate it hosts, bowing to the demands of the Republicans and Democrats in limiting the options to the two parties’ candidates.

Should you be interested in contacting the CPD, you can call (202) 872-1020.

    Where Does McBama Stand?

Posted by Brett Bittner on August 4, 2008

For those of you who are still comparing candidates for the Presidency in November, Andrew Davis at lp.org put together a handy checklist of positions for the two status quo candidates, McBama, as well as the differing opinions of Bob Barr.  If the American Idol contest of an election the media has created has not yet mesmerized you, perhaps some substantive issues with a differing viewpoint might sway your opinion of who will truly represent America as intended come 2009.

Upcoming Blogger Call With Bob Barr

Posted by Brett Bittner on August 2, 2008

If anyone has questions that they would like to see Barr’s answers to, please leave them in the comments.  I will be on the call on Wednesday afternoon, so anything received before the call will be considered.  Keep in mind that I will only be able to ask one or two questions, and that I also have some of my own.
