    Commission on Presidential Debates 202-872-1020

Posted by Brett Bittner on August 27, 2008

The fraudulent Commission on Presidential Debates has not heard enough from third party advocates in regard to getting candidates like Bob Barr, Ralph Nader, Chuck Baldwin, or Cynthia McKinney into the Democrat-Republican monopoly on the government. McBama is not a choice, and they need to know that there is no debate when both John McCain and Barack Obama are the evils we need to rid ourselves of.

Please take a few minutes to call them at 202-872-1020 and let them know that you want more choices when it comes to the debates.  I plan on calling daily to ask them when Bob Barr will be included.

Saddleback Church Forum – Bob Barr EXCLUDED

Posted by Brett Bittner on August 15, 2008

Bob Barr’s attorneys are filing an injunction against Saddleback Church to include Bob Barr in their forum this Saturday.  Both status quo candidates have been invited and accepted to speak, while the church has excluded Bob from speaking.

The church pastor’s e-mail can be reached by clicking here.  You can view more on the event that Bob was excluded from here.  You can inquire about the event by calling (949) 609-8778.

A new Zogby poll released today shows that interest in the Libertarian nominee, Bob Barr, is strong enough that a majority of respondents indicated they want him to be included in the debates, along with Ralph Nader.  I have included a breakdown of responses below.

For both candidates, this is fantastic news.  Unfortunately, their voices will most likely not be heard.  The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private, unaccountable organization that chooses more of the same for each debate it hosts, bowing to the demands of the Republicans and Democrats in limiting the options to the two parties’ candidates.

    Where Does McBama Stand?

Posted by Brett Bittner on August 4, 2008

For those of you who are still comparing candidates for the Presidency in November, Andrew Davis at lp.org put together a handy checklist of positions for the two status quo candidates, McBama, as well as the differing opinions of Bob Barr.  If the American Idol contest of an election the media has created has not yet mesmerized you, perhaps some substantive issues with a differing viewpoint might sway your opinion of who will truly represent America as intended come 2009.

Excerpt From a Letter From Bob Barr

Posted by Brett Bittner on July 31, 2008

Today I received one of the most poignant, relevant letters written about the Presidential campaigns currently underway.  Bob Barr points out the ends to which the media will focus on the status quo candidates, and how neither of them is spending time telling us their plans to make America better.  The candidates are pulling out all of the stops to point out faults in the other.  I have included below some powerful words, but you can read the entire letter on the Barr Campaign Updates.

The second news story was about the latest McCain and Obama campaign ads. Like virtually everything else they have said, they were in agreement. Early in the day McCain charged Obama with arrogance and Obama’s negative response was to say that McCain was running a negative campaign.

So, please, tell us something we don’t know! The bigger fact is that NEITHER campaign is talking about the important issues that affect the lives of Americans. Neither has a real plan that would result in lower energy costs. Neither is going to do anything about $4 a gallon gasoline, the inflation that looms ahead as well as the overall weakening of our economy. Neither has a short term – much less long term – solution to the problems of global terrorism and the combat that is killing American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The American voters don’t get a chance to learn about the issues and they will only have a few short days to get to know who might become the second most powerful person on earth.

Finally, while we may not know where Senator McCain stands on many issues, compliments of CNN, we do know that he stands in a pair of $500 Italian made designer shoes. How absurd is this? While I don’t pay $500 for my shoes, I have to think this is the biggest waste of news coverage ever. CNN spends more time talking about Senator McCain’s fashion than about my campaign!

As I try to bring these points to media and public attention, it is difficult. Perhaps because my campaign represents a threat to the status quo, there is a clear effort to block my access to the public through the media. If you agree that where we stand on the issues is more important than the shoes that John McCain stands in, then I ask you to

    [...]

Help me spread the word. Please forward this email to friends and family across the nation. Your endorsement means more than 100 newspaper articles.

His points not only expose some of the faults of the two-party system, where the candidates reduce themselves to convincing you that the other person is a greater evil, but they also show the media’s inability to give you the full story when it comes to the options available on the ballot in November.
